NPA MULTI SKILLED TEAM IN THUA THIEN HUE PROVINCE VIETNAM SAFELY DISPOSED OF THREE OLD WARTIME AERIAL BOMBS WITH THE USE OF NPA MOBILE BOMB CUTTING SYSTEM
On 3 November 2022, NPA Vietnam’s multi-skilled team in Thua Thien Hue province safely disposed of three old wartime aerial bombs, with a total weight of more than 560kg. Days of torrential rain had exposed these bombs in A Luoi and Quang Dien districts.
Responding to three emergency “hotline EOD spot task” calls made by different local people, the team transported these three bombs to the NPA Thua Thien Hue central demolition site, following a risk assessment which concluded that they were safe to move. With the mobile bomb cutting system NPA use in Vietnam, all three bombs were cut open after the team utilizes the modern X-ray system to identify/verify the type and position of the fuse. The explosives were then burnt out and the remaining metal was further disposed of separately.
