NPA IN THUA THIEN HUE SAFELY DESTROYS A 500-POUND BOMB FOUND ON A RESERVOIR

On the 20th of June, the multi-skilled team of NPA in Thua Thien Hue Province safely destroyed a 500-pound bomb found by local villagers in Ta Trach reservoir, Nam Dong District. The bomb was discovered as the reservoir's water level was drying up due to drought. The villagers that found the bomb immediately reported their discovery to the commune military officer.

The NPA team investigated the Mk82 bomb that was located around 1,500 meters from the villagers’ houses. While its nose fuse had been broken, its bottom fuse still remained intact. The NPA team leader decided to dispose of the Mk82bomb in the location it was found. The team coordinated with local authorities to set up a safety cordon for the demolition. Following the safe demolition, the villagers thanked the NPA team for their fast and efficient response to increased public safety.
